Mind and Life XV Professional Pre-sale

Emory University and the Mind and Life Institute welcome you to the special pre-sale opportunity for Mind and Life XV: Mindfulness, Compassion, and the Treatment of Depression conference tickets (click here for full conference details). A limited number of floor and bleacher general admission seats are available for professionals in the fields of psychology, psychiatry, medicine, neurosciences, nursing, pastoral counseling, and social work.

This pre-sale was designed to ensure that academic and practicing professionals—who might benefit most from this special conference—will have an opportunity to purchase tickets.

While we encourage you to forward this opportunity to your professional colleagues, we ask that you not forward this pre-sale information outside of the professions for which it was designed. A significant number of tickets will be held for the public on sale date of July 24 for members of the general public and professionals not included in this special pre-sale.

All seats in this pre-sale are general admission. See Emory Sponsorship Opportunities or Mind & Life Sponsorship Opportunities for details regarding preferred seating at this and other events.

Optional Continuing Education Credits (click here to skip this section):

We are pleased to offer Continuing Education units for professionals in the fields of medicine and religion.

Social Work
"Mind & Life XV: Mindfulness, Compassion and the Treatment of Depression on October 20, 2007 has been approved by the National Association of Social Workers, Georgia Chapter (NASW-GA), for a total of 4.45 core continuing education clock hours for social work licensing purposes."

Psychology
"The Continuing Education Committee of the Georgia Psychological Association has approved this program for 5 hours of CE credit.

The Georgia Psychological Association is approved by the American
Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Georgia Psychological Association maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

APA CE rules require that we only give credit to those who attend the entire workshop. Those arriving more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time or leaving before the workshop is complete will not receive CE credits."

Medical

"This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of Emory University School of Medicine and the Mind and Life Institute. The Emory University School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Emory University School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. "

Religion
"The Office of Church Ministries Education, Candler School of Theology, Emory University, will award registered pastors and other religious professionals .5 CEUs for full participation in this continuing education event.

To register for Continuing Education Credits you must purchase a Continuing Education Credit Voucher along with your ticket. This voucher costs $25 dollars (flat fee per discipline regardless of the number of credits for which you are eligible) and must be exchanged at the venue for your credit paperwork. "

We are actively pursuing continuing education credits for other fields (we can not list the fields until the approval process is complete). Please check the event listing page for updates if you are interested in continuing education credits in a field other than medicine.

To register for Continuing Medical Education Credits you must purchase a Continuing Education Credit Voucher along with your ticket. This voucher costs $25 dollars (flat fee per discipline regardless of the number of credits for which you are eligible) and must be exchanged at the venue for your credit paperwork. If you are eligible for more than one discipline (medicine and religion, for example) you would need to purchase two vouchers if you wanted to receive credit in both fields.

How to add a Continuing Education Voucher (click here to skip this section):

Once you have added your conference ticket(s) to your shopping cart there is a link for Continuing Education Credit (see illustration below). Click on that link and add the appropriate number of vouchers to your shopping cart. Remember, each person requires only one voucher unless you are looking to receive credits in multiple fields. For example: if you are purchasing three tickets to the event, and two of the attendees are eligible and interested in receiving continuing education credits, you would need to add two $25 vouchers to your cart.

How to add Continuing Education Vouchers

Questions about this process can be directed to info@dalailama.emory.edu and should be sent before making your purchase. All ticket sales including Continuing Education Vouchers are final.

Vouchers for non-medicine credits—if they become available—will be able to be purchased through the ticketing website. If purchased separately from your event tickets they will be subject to a second $3.50 transaction charge from the box office. If your ticket purchase is dependent on availability of continuing education units for a field of study other than medicine, please do not purchase your tickets at this time as they are non-refundable should we not be able to offer your specific education credit.  Be aware that tickets may sell out prior to formal announcement of other continuing education opportunities.

Ticket Certification and Purchase

By clicking below, I certify that I am eligible to purchase tickets in this pre-sale because of my profession in the fields of medicine, psychology, psychiatry, nursing, pastoral counseling, or social work. Student discount tickets are not available during this presale as this is a professional presale. I understand that if I do not qualify for this presale I must wait to purchase general public tickets (if available) on July 24.

If the above statement is true, click here and proceed to pre-sale ticketing.

If you call the box office (404.727.5050) or visit in person, please give them the following code to certify your pre-sale eligibility: COMPASSION
